A desperate father has prevented the worst from happening, and his story is sending chills throughout his entire neighborhood.
It was a warm Thursday evening in Walkerton, Indiana. Ron Kraus was outside in the front yard with his son, Ryker, setting up for his very first birthday party.
Suddenly, a man in a silver or gray 1990’s-style minivan pulled up the long driveway, and asked Ron for some water to cool down his overheated radiator.
Ron says he offered to help the man. He turned and stepped mere inches inside his home, just far enough to reach the water cooler sitting by the sliding doors. Ryker had been sitting at his feet outside.
Then when Ron noticed the unthinkable out of the corner of his eye: The stranger was trying to stuff Ryker in a duffel bag and take off running down the driveway and to his minivan.
“He’s got about 100 feet, and I’ll never see my son again,” Ron told CBS.
