Childhood Obesity Guidelines Updated

The American Academy of Pediatrics has released new guidelines for treating childhood obesity for the first time in 15 years. According to data from the CDC, nearly 15 million children and teenagers in the U.S. are affected by obesity. Medical professionals say obesity not only affects physical health, but also affects mental health. The new guidelines emphasize the need for "early and intensive treatment" of childhood obesity.

It's time for parents to do a better job of raising our children. We have all the resources and high quality food is readily available. I hope we take the initiative, as Americans, rather than rely on the government to do all the work for us. Because this is our country, these are your kids, and not theirs.
