CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – As the necessary actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 have become more apparent over the past week, Orchestra Iowa will heed the advice of the CDC and indefinitely postpone all Orchestra Iowa and Opus Concert Café performances and events through May 8, 2020.
The health and safety of our audience members, musicians, school families and staff remain our top priority as we continue to pursue our mission to foster enjoyment of, and support for fine symphonic music. In the meantime, we are working to secure new dates for the affected performances which will be communicated if and when they become available.
“Orchestra Iowa is committed to the health and safety of our audiences, musicians and staff,” said Jeff Collier, CEO of Orchestra Iowa. “While we pause the presentation of live performances to allow the pandemic situation to fully subside, we enthusiastically await the time when we can gather our community back together and celebrate the joy of music with our Orchestra Iowa family.”
Patrons who have already purchased tickets to cancelled performances will be contacted by the Orchestra Iowa Ticket Office to discuss options.
