Albuquerque, N.M. -- Sophomore Manuela Lizarazu paced the University of Iowa women's golf team with a 36-hole score of 147 (+3) at the Branch Law Firm Invitational on Monday. The Hawkeyes are in 14th through 36 holes. Iowa carded a total of 601 (+25).
Pepperdine leads the meet (569; -7), followed by No. 11 Kent State (570; -6) and Ole Miss (571; -5).
LIZARAZU LEADS IOWA
Lizarazu shot 70 (-2) in round one and 77 (+4) in round two. The Bogota, Colombia, native utilized six birdies and is tied for 25th. Her 23 pars ties her sixth in the field. Her score is 10 under where she sat after day one in the Branch Law Firm Invitational a year ago.
Junior Stephanie Herzog posted a 36-hole score of 155 (+11). She collected three birdies and 22 pars and is tied for 56th. Sophomore Dana Lerner was disqualified.
FRESHMEN DEBUT
Freshmen Jacque Galloway and Morgan Goldstein each made their Hawkeye debut. Galloway moved up four spots on the leaderboard in the second round and is tied for 72nd, while Goldstein is tied for 56th.
