The City of Iowa City will continue towing vehicles parked along certain downtown streets today in an effort to clear streets of snow, officials announced Wednesday.
At 2 a.m. on Friday, January 25, towing began from Burlington Street to Jefferson Street, and Clinton Street to Gilbert Street. Vehicles can be moved to a downtown parking ramp, or to on-street parking spaces outside of the area. Again, residents are advised to follow posted signs.
At 7 a.m., crews will tow vehicles from the following streets:
- Jefferson Street, from Gilbert Street to Evans Street (south side only)
- Iowa Avenue, from Van Buren Street to Muscatine Avenue (south side only)
- Washington Street, from Johnson Street to Muscatine Avenue (south side only)
- College Street, from Summit Street to Van Buren Street (north side only)
