IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa freshman Tony Cassioppi has been named USA Wrestling's Athlete of the Week. Cassioppi won the 285-pound title at the UNI Open on Dec. 8, pinning all three of his opponents in a combined three minutes, 10 seconds. The tournament title was the third of the season for Cassioppi. He improved to 11-0 with 10 falls. The Hawkeyes return to the mat Dec. 29-30 at the Midlands Championships in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
