A 16-year-old has serious injuries after a crash that happened at 6:26 p.m. Thursday on the 5600 block of Pering Ridge Road.
16-year-old Heath Moyer from Coggon was driving north on Pering Ridge Road when 57-year-old Dan Strum from Coggon failed to yield when turning into a residence.
Strum was hit by Moyer.
Moyer was taken to Mercy Hospital by ambulance for serious injuries and wasn't wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.
Strum wasn't hurt during the accident and was wearing his seatbelt. He was cited for Unsafe Turn.
The accident is still under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue, Coggon Fire Department, and Center Point Ambulance assisted at the scene.
