Morning Storms, Hot & Steamy Day

Extreme humidity remains in place for the next 24-36 hours, which will continue to fuel rounds of showers and storms at various times. Look for these storms this morning to generally move out of our area around 10am or so. Just behind it, the sky is pretty clear and we should heat up quickly this afternoon. The southern half of the area will likely experience heat indices over 100 for a brief period of time, while the northern half will stay slightly cooler.

Tonight, our next storm complex should affect mainly the northeast corner of Iowa.

Tomorrow, the main cold front comes across with storms becoming likely after lunchtime. Heavy rainfall is the main risk with tomorrow's storms, and many locations should exceed one inch. Look for much cooler air on Wednesday along with drier conditions.
