CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Authorities responded to 1630 19th Avenue NW at 3:13 a.m. on April 2 for a garage fire.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department arrived to find the occupants were out of the garage and accounted for.
The exterior of the house next to the garage also had damage from the fire, and it spread to the attic of the house.
Everyone was able to get out of the house safely and the fire was able to be controlled.
The garage was destroyed in the fire and the house has heavy fire, heat, smoke, and water damage.
Area Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
