Tempe, Ariz. -- Freshman Rachel Fujitani notched her best career finish to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team in the final round of the Arizona State Invitational on Sunday. The Hawkeyes finished 14th with a 54-hole score of 911 (+47).
No. 15 Arizona won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 852 (-12). They are followed by No. 16 Washington (856; -8) and No. 50 Georgia (862; -2).
FUJITANI CARDS BEST FINISH
Freshman Rachel Fujitani fired four birdies in round three on her way to an 18-hole score of 74 (+2) in the final round. She finished with a career-best 54-hole score of 221 (+5), tying for 29th -- a career-best finish.
COMPETING INDIVIDUALLY
Redshirt freshman Sarah Overton finished the third round with a score of 84 (+12). She finished the tournament 80th with a three-round score of 246 (+30).
