2020 Tractorcade Postponed Announcement

WHO RADIO & WMT RADIO POSTPONE ANNUAL TRACTOR RIDES

Des Moines, IA. – Friday, May 1, 2020 – Today, iHeartMedia-Des Moines, NEWSRADIO 1040 WHO (WHO-AM), iHeartMedia-Cedar Rapids, AM 600 WMT (WMT-AM) and America’s premiere farm radio show, The Big Show, announced that based on an abundance of caution it will postpone their June 2020 annual tractor rides to a date later in 2020, official dates to be announced at a later time.

“Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our staff, riders and all supporters and as such we are following the recommendations of state, national and global health experts. We look forward to the opportunity to continue conversations about the 24th Annual WHO Radio Great Iowa Tractor Ride, later this year at a date to be determined” said Scot Knock, WHO Tractor Ride Director.

For over 20 years, both these events have been held in small towns throughout the Great State of Iowa, every June, bringing together hundreds of drivers and their tractors of all makes and models, to ride alongside and over the breathtaking farmlands of Iowa.

“As much as we all enjoy the annual tractor enthusiast gathering in Eastern Iowa, we have to be cognizant of the current environment.” Matt Kenney, Events Manager for AM 600 WMT said, “Whether we postpone the 21st Annual WMT Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade originally scheduled for early June for a few months or until 2021, we will communicate with our riders and our host partners as soon as the decision has been made”.

"WHO and WMT’s summer Tractor Rides are some of Iowa agriculture's great summer traditions, and I look forward to them every year. But life looks a little bit different right now so I fully support their decision to postpone their events until we can all gather again safely. I look forward to climbing back into the driver's seat and catching up with all my friends when the time is right.,” said Secretary Mike Naig, Iowa Department of Agriculture

All currently registered drivers for either rides will carry their 2020 registrations to the new date. Drivers who wish to request a refund of their 2020 registration fee need to download the refund request form from either website at whoradio.com/tractorride or 600wmt.com.Please allow up to 60 days for refund requests.
