Recipes from December 1st

Black Walnut Cookies
¼ C brown sugar
¼ C powdered sugar
½ C sugar
½ t vanilla extract
½ t ground cinnamon
2 C AP flour
½ C black walnuts

Mix ingredients, layout wax paper, put dough on top of it then flour your dough then put another sheet of wax paper on top of that. With a rolling pin, roll out to ¼”. Remove top sheet of wax paper. Cut with pizza cutter into 2” squares. Lay out a lightly floured cookie sheet 350 degrees 15-20 minutes.

Soft Sugar Cookie
½ C margarine/butter
1 C sugar
1 egg
1/3 C milk
1 t vanilla extract
½ t cream of tartar
½ t baking soda
¼ t salt
2 ½ C AP flour

Mix butter sugar egg milk and vanilla extract. Mix dry ingredients and incorporate. Chill dough for 2 hours. Roll out and cut into desired shapes ¼” thick. Bake on ungreased sheet 375 until springy to touch

Crispy sugar cookie
1C sugar
1C powdered sugar
1C canola oil
1C butter
2 eggs
1 t vanilla extract
1 t cream of tartar
1 t baking soda
½ t salt
4 ½ c ap flour

Cream sugars and shortenings/butter

Add eggs and vanilla extract

Incorporate dry ingredients

Roll into balls or use a dasher

Flatten them with a glass dipped in colored sugar

375 7-9 minutes
