Coming together to celebrate

Tough times to be sure, yet there is still a lot to be thankful for in the ag industry across this state and in Jones County, where the Cattlemen held their annual banquet Saturday night in Monticello with the featured attraction:

The best ribeye of the year in a lot of people's eyes. As always, preperation is key:

60 USDA Prime 14 oz steaks per rack, properly seasoned and then grilled to perfection on the charcoal grill along with all the fixin's:

In fact, the crowd was so big they had to throw a few more steaks on the grill by flashlight:

Sharing a meal in order to fund the outstanding outreach efforts of the Jones County Cattlemen, celebrate success with another Hall of Fame induction and help the future of the industry by handing out a few scholarships:

Congratulations to Don Stickle, this year's Hall of Fame Inductee and a longtime titan in the animal agriculture industry in Jones County. Of course, there was also time for a little fun to crown this year's Jones County Idol, Colton McQuillen.
