It was six years ago that President Obama promised auto workers that when he was finished being Commander in Chief, he was going to buy a Chevy Volt.
“I got to get inside a brand-new Chevy Volt fresh off the line,” Obama said to a crowd of United Auto Workers. “Even though Secret Service wouldn’t let me drive it. But I liked sitting in it. It was nice. I’ll bet it drives real good. And five years from now when I’m not President anymore, I’ll buy one and drive it myself.”
So far he hasn't kept that promise and if he is to do so now, it would seem he's going to have to buy a used one as GM announced yesterday it was ceasing production of the car once most famous for catching fire.
Simply put this is a car that Americans didn't want. It was very expensive and the result of the Government/GM partnership.
