Does Sears' bankruptcy mark the beginning of the end for 'Big Box' stores?

Early this morning Sears Holdings filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and becomes the latest big box retailer to succumb to the changing way of doing business in the 21st Century.

Just yesterday I was at the Mall and was surprised how quiet it was this close to Christmas.

The former Yonkers - at least on one floor - is currently a temporary Halloween costume store.

The Sears' plan includes closing 142 unprofitable stores near the end of the year.

Sears - which hasn’t made a profit since 2010, was supposed to pay a $134Million debt payment today.

So are we witnessing the end of the big retail giants as the way we shop changes?
