Be careful what you read today because it will have that whole 'women's health' bias built into it. What ACTUALLY happened in the Iowa Senate yesterday is that they passed the so-called Heartbeat Bill which would make it illegal to kill a baby once a heartbeat has been detected.
This would have the effect of making it a felony to kill most babies in the Iowa. Baby heartbeats start at around six weeks.
So now the Bill heads to the House. If they find the spine to pass it, Governor Kim Reynolds will have the power to make it law or veto it. I believe if given the opportunity, she would sign it.... in a heartbeat!
So will the House give her that chance?
