Voter ID is now the law in Iowa! It started yesterday and it means if you show up to vote you will be asked for your ID at polling places.
You can use a driver's license, a non-operator's ID, a passport, a military ID, a veteran's ID or a voter ID card.
If you don't have one of those, you will still be able to vote THIS year, but will have to sign an oath verifying your identity.
Starting in 2019, you will NOT be able to vote without ID.
For this year, if you need an absentee ballot, you must include your driver's license, non-operator's ID number, or voter ID number on the request form.
