(Iowa) -- What started as a resource for computer science students at Iowa State University is now a free, public website where people can follow the latest developments in artificial intelligence.
ISU Computer Science professor, Dr. Wei Le, says she got the idea for the website from something she added to her class schedule:
"In my AI class, students were struggling with the current state of AI, so I created a segment called 'This Week's AI' where we would discuss the latest AI technology and tools. This ended up being the students' favorite part of the class."
Following the popularity of the segment, Dr. Le and a group of graduate students began developing a free public resource called Today's AI. The site is updated daily and gives users a hub from which they can search through hundreds of AI tools and find the ones that are most useful to their daily lives.
Le says the website has seen growing interest since its launch this spring:
"Every tool that's recently published will be in one place, so people can go there and learn and search what tool fits their life and work purposes. The site right now is free to explore, and we designed the learning material to be clear and easy to navigate, so it can be accessed by the general public."
Le says she hopes the site will develop into a learning community, where people can share their experiences with AI and discuss their needs, with the site serving as a bridge between the rapidly changing world of AI development and the users of AI tools and technology. She adds that AI isn't meant to replace people, and tools like Todaysai.ai can help people use AI to improve their lives.
