(Des Moines, IA) -- Former Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent and now convicted felon Ian Roberts, is being transferred to a minimum-security federal prison in Illinois.
The U.S. Marshals Service says Roberts will be moved to the Federal Correctional Institution in Thomson, about an hour north of Moline.
Roberts was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to making a false statement to obtain employment and being an illegal immigrant in possession of a firearm.
He will receive credit for time already served.
