Iowa Ranked In Top Twenty States For Law Enforcement Careers

(Iowa) -- A national study ranks Iowa 20th for being among the best states to be a police officer.

WalletHub looked at 30 factors to decide the best and worst states to be police officers, including compensation, state and local spending on police protection and the number of officer deaths per capita.

Iowa ranked well for job hazards and protection as well as opportunity and competition.

Illinois is ranked the third-best state to be a police officer, in part because it has the highest median wage at over $101-thousand dollars a year.
