(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- It will still be some time before two I-380 speed cameras are turned back on.

The cameras, on either end of the Interstate 380 S-curve at J Avenue and 1st Avenue, were turned off a year ago due to a new state law.

The city recently won an appeal to the Iowa DOT to start using them again.

However, state law requires a public notice period before the cameras can be reactivated and start issuing speeding citations.
