(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A flight from Omaha to Detroit was diverted to Cedar Rapids last night after a passenger attempted to open an emergency exit mid-flight.

According to authorities, 23-year-old Mario Nikprelaj of Nebraska became combative with a flight attendant before trying to open the door. The pilots made an emergency landing at The Eastern Iowa Airport about an hour after takeoff.

Nikprelaj was taken into custody and booked into the Linn County Jail on multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a prescription drug and disorderly conduct.
