(Des Moines, IA) -- Governor Kim Reynolds signs a proclamation easing restrictions on the transportation of disaster response and repair materials.

According to a press release from Reynolds’ office, the proclamation “suspends the regulatory provisions of Iowa Code pertaining to movement of loads related to disaster repairs and for hours of service for crews and drivers delivering goods and services while responding to disaster sites.”

This comes after severe storms and tornados affected several parts of the state on Friday.

The proclamation is effective April 1 through May 1, 2023.
