(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- One of the men charged in the Taboo Nightclub shooting is taking a plea deal and will be sentenced on May 22nd. Timothy Rush is pleading guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter, avoiding 2nd-degree murder charges. Rush claims he was shooting in self-defense when he killed Nicole Owens and Marvin Cox at the southeast Cedar Rapids night club last April. A third person died in the shooting and the other suspect, Dimione Walker, was sentenced to life in prison for 1st-degree murder back in December.
