(Undated) -- Almost two dozen McDonald's restaurants around Iowa are changing ownership.

Owner/operator Kevin O’Brien will be stepping down starting Thursday, October 28th. His parents opened their first McDonald's in 1958, which was the first woman franchisee at the time and one of the first 60 McDonalds in the entire country.

Restaurants seeing the change in ownership include McDonald's in Ames, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Marshalltown, Walcott, and more.
