Governor Kim Reynolds Has Signed New Iowa Plan Lowering Property Taxes

(Des Moines, IA) -- Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a new Iowa tax plan this morning. Iowa homeowners are getting their property taxes lowered and the state inheritance tax is going away. The bill also lowers the state income tax most Iowans pay by nearly 2% in the next two years. Property taxes statewide will be lowered by $100-million after mental health programs are funded by the state instead of property taxes. The bill also raises tax credits for housing and childcare.
