World's largest grain bin under construction in Iowa

(Mason City, IA) -- The world's largest grain bin is under construction in Mason City, Iowa. When it's completed this spring it will have a 165-foot diameter and a 155-peak height. Golden Grain Energy CEO Chad Kuhlers says it will store 2.2 million bushels of corn, roughly 18-miles of corn. He says it's so big, you could fit a 737 jet inside.

The bin is being built by Sukup Manufacturing and will be slightly bigger than the current, largest grain bin the world, in Atlantic, Iowa.

He says you won't be able to see the giant grain from Interstate 35, they're about 10-miles east, but those driving on the Avenue of the Saints won't miss it.
