SIOUX RAPIDS, Iowa -- A northwest Iowa police chief is temporarily suspended after posting a Facebook comment about running over Black Lives matter demonstrators.

Community members joined the city council yesterday to address the comment Chief Tim Porter made that appear to call demonstrators "road bumps" after a man drove his car through a crowd of activists last weekend.

Chief Porter made the comments under a KCCI Facebook post.

Porter has since apologized.

He's suspended for two weeks without pay.
