Former National Security Adviser John Bolton said in a statement Monday that he'd be willing to testify in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial in the Senate should he be subpoenaed.

"Accordingly, since my testimony is once again at issue, I have had to resolve the serious competing issues as best I could, based on careful consideration and study," Bolton said in a statement obtained by CNN. "I have concluded that, if the Senate issues a subpoena for my testimony, I am prepared to testify."

Bolton had previously stated that he would await a judge's ruling on the issue.
