Democrats may have one less candidate at Steak Fry in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa - Polk County Democrats may have lost one of their participants at their annual Steak Fry Saturday in Des Moines.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced he's ending his presidential campaign Friday morning on the MSNBC show "Morning Joe"

De Blasio was one of 18 candidates scheduled to speak at the Steak Fry, which will take place at Des Moines' Water Works Park, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Steak Fry will now includes at least 17 of them, including front runners Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

Judy Downs, Executive Director of Polk County Democrats, says they're expecting that de Blasio will not speak a the Steak Fry.

Meanwhile, Iowa's Republican Governor Kim Reynolds will hold her annual fundraiser later on the same day. Reynold's Harvest Festival will take place at 4 p.m. on the Iowa State Fairgrounds, where she'll be joined be joined lady Karen Pence.

Democrats are expecting 11,000 people to attend the Steak Fry.
