Iowa Senate joins House in limiting AG

The Iowa Senate Wednesday joined the House approving a measure that forces the Attorney General to get permission from the Governor, Legislature, or Executive Council before filing, or joining in, national lawsuits.

Republicans who backed the measure in both chambers say Attorney General Tom Miller, who's a Democrat, acted politically in filing a number of lawsuits again the Trump Administration. House and Senate Democrats say Miller's doing the job Iowans elected him to do.

There's no indication whether or not Governor Kim Reynolds will put her signature on the measure.
