Police Seek Vandals Who Defaced 'Unconditional Surrender' Sculpture

Police in Florida want to find the people who defaced an iconic statue modeled after the famous kissing couple photo taken in New York City's Times Square at the end of World War Two. Officers in Sarasota found #MeToo written in red spray paint along the nurse's left leg, causing about $1,000 in damage. Some have described the photo as depicting sexual assault since years later the woman in the picture said she didn't know the man who kissed her. The vandalism happened one day after the sailor seen in the photo died at the age of 95. Workers have already removed the graffiti from the sculpture.
