Iowa Governor Reynolds takes oath of office

DES MOINES, Iowa-  Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds took the oath of office today (Friday), and was sworn in as the state's 43rd governor, and first woman elected to the post.   Iowa Supreme Court Justice Susan Christensen did the honors.  The Governor shared this photo on social media.

Two inaugural balls are planned for this 7 p.m. in Des Moines.   One at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center is sold out, a second inaugural  ball will be held at the Scottish Rite Consistory Building.

Reynolds served as governor since May 2017, after then-Governor Terry Branstad became U.S. ambassador to China.   She was elected to a full term last November.
