Man convicted of killing Des Moines girl dies

IOWA CITY, Iowa-  A man convicted of killing a Des Moines girl decades ago has died.   Sixty-one-year-old Charles Lasage had been serving a life prison sentence for 1st Degree Murder.   Lasage died Sunday, December 16th at University Hospitals in Iowa City after a chronic illness.  

Lasage was convicted of killing eleven-year-old Rosalyn Barnes October 14, 1991. 

Her body was found near Adventureland Drive in Altoona.  An autopsy concluded Barnes died of strangulation.

Lasage was also convicted of killing an eleven-year-old girl in New York in 1986.
