The storm that brought heavy snow to southern Iowa continues to pull away to the east today. It's still causing a bit of a wind from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph, sometimes gusting higher. That's not as strong as yesterday, but easily enough to make highs in the 20s feel awfully brisk. Our sky is partly to mostly cloudy today.
More breaks in the clouds are coming tonight. Lows are generally in the teens with wind chills dipping a little below zero late in the night through early Tuesday morning. There should be more sunshine Tuesday with highs in the lower 20s. Tuesday night is cold again, and the snow-covered areas should fall into the single digits.
Temperatures slowly recover into the 30s toward the end of the week as a chance of a wintry mix comes through. Another storm system may affect the Midwest this weekend.
