CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) -- Hurricane Michael has left many families devastated in Florida and Georgia.
Thousands have lost their homes and belongings.But, some eastern Iowa McDonalds franchise is trying to help.
The O'Brien Family McDonald's organization are collecting donations in all of their restaurants to support those impacted.
The donations will be collected from their restaurants on October 26th.
Large donations from individuals and/or businesses are welcome, and arrangements can be made by contacting their Marketing Director at (319) 471-5537.
Distribution of the donated items will be handled through the O’Brien Family McDonald’s organization.
Household Supplies: toilet paper, paper plates, plastic cups, plastic utensils, trash bags, storage bins, bleach, cleaning supplies, extension cords, mold remover, flashlights, batteries, battery operated fans, rakes, brooms, shovels, wheelbarrows.
Personal Care Items: bug repellent, soap, hand sanitizer, personal hygiene products, feminine products, baby wipes and diapers.
Camping Supplies: tarps, cots, sleeping blankets, tents
Clothing (youth and adult sizes): shorts, pants, t-shirts, tank tops, shoes, work gloves, new undergarments.
Food: canned goods, non perishable foods, pet food
Donations can be dropped off at any of the O’Brien Family McDonald’s restaurant locations in the following cities in Iowa: Ames, Boone, Carroll, Coralville, Iowa City, Marshalltown, Muscatine, Nevada, North Liberty, Story City, Walcott, Washington, West Branch & Williamsburg.
