CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The man restaurants in eastern Iowa say is a serial dine and dasher is back behind bars.
Tracy Allan Haas was arrested in Scott County Monday on an escape warrant out of Black Hawk County, a day after KCRG-TV9 reported Haas is a suspected serial dine and dasher. Haas was also wanted after walking away from work release in Waterloo.
Black Hawk County authorities say Haas was serving time at a halfway house when he walked away. His original charge he was serving time for was forgery.
Last week, the owner of the Fieldhouse in Cedar Rapids posted a picture of Haas claiming he had eaten there and left without paying the bill twice. That post went viral with other restaurants and bars claiming he had dined and dashed on them, too.
Cedar Rapids police say Haas is a suspect in a dine and dash last week at Vernon Bar and Grill. The owner there told KCRG-TV9 he reported Haas to police after seeing the viral post.
Court records show Haas was arrested in 2016 for dining and dashing at Applebee's and The Other Place in Cedar Falls. He was also convicted of refusing to pay his tab at Papa Juan's in Cedar Rapids in 2014. Those are just three of the 15 theft charges Haas has on his record.
Haas found at the Applebee's on Elmore Avenue in Davenport.
