Remembrance Set for Jake Wilson

LA PORTE CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - A service to remember 16-year-old Jake Wilson will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Union High School.

Wilson was last seen on April 7 when he told his family he was going for a walk to Wolf Creek.

Chris Brecher, the Chief of Police in La Porte City, says the public is invited to come to the service early at 12:30 p.m. to share their memories with one another.

Jake's family says they hope all who helped with the search can attend the event.

In a press release, Brecher says Jake has "show us what we as a community are capable of doing when we come together for the greater good."

Human remains identified as Jake were found the week of August 12th near Wolf Creek.
