BROOKLYN, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The man accused of killing Mollie Tibbetts has hired new attorneys and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

According to court documents filed Sunday and Monday, attorneys Chad and Jennifer Frese are now representing Cristhian Bahena Rivera, replacing Allan Richards, who represented Rivera at his initial appearance last week.
In other filings filed by Rivera's new attorneys, the preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday, August 31 has been waived and all pending motions filed by Richards have been withdrawn.
No additional court hearings have been set according to Iowa Courts Online.
