CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The school year started in Cedar Rapids Thursday, and parents dropping off their kids at Hoover Elementary had to learn how to navigate a new roundabout. It's at Johnson Avenue and Wiley Boulevard Northwest.
Last year, the city says there were 14 crashes on Johnson Avenue. So it thought this roundabout would slow down traffic and make the area safer.
The city held open houses so parents could learn how to use this new roundabout.
