Rebulding at Vermeer is Well Underway

PELLA, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Monday marked four days since tornadoes touched down in Bondurant, Marshalltown and Pella.

The EF-3 tornado in Pella hit farming and construction equipment manufacturer Vermeer the hardest. It destroyed at least two buildings and damaged others while hurting seven people. Those victims were released from the hospital on the night of the tornado.

The company wasn't in operation Friday as it tried to recover. Vermeer was back open for the first time since the tornado Monday. The company wrote on Facebook that Monday was proof that the Vermeer team is stronger than ever.

The company's CEO Jason Andringa said the impact of the tornado was nothing compared to the outpouring of support afterwards. He also wrote on Facebook the amount of progress the company has made since Thursday is astounding.
