MARION, Iowa (KCRG-TV9)-- A local musician was able to get back both his guitars after they were stolen a week ago. And now, he wants to thank the eastern Iowa arts community for spreading the word about what happened.
Jeremy Jacobs was packing for a show last Saturday. That's when someone broke into his car and stole two guitars.
He filed a police report right away, then posted what happened on social media.
From there, his friends and fellow musicians kept sharing the post. Eventually, another musician found out that he bought the stolen guitar.
"This past week I've been making all these posts and people have been sharing it and track it down. And finally the person that bought it saw an ad we had posted and got in contact we with so we got it back. Just a crazy weekend," Jacobs said.
Jacobs will perform with his recovered guitar next month.
His band is playing at the McGrath Amphitheater on Friday, August, 17. He plans to thank everyone for all their help during the concert.
