CRPD Investigate Numerous Incidents Tuesday Night

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - Cedar Rapids police are investigating a series of incidents after the Ellis Fireworks Tuesday night, including one that caused a Casey's store to close.

In that incident, police say 25-40 people barged into the Casey's on Ellis Boulevard at O Avenue NW. The teenagers were fighting and screaming obscenities and knocked over items in the store and stole other items. Casey's closed the store as a result. Police are reviewing surveillance tapes for possible criminal charges. Video of the incident circulated on social media.

In another incident at Ellis pool, three teenagers were arrested for a fight on charges of disorderly conduct and assault on an officer. Two other juveniles were arrested at the pool for Interference with Official Acts and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Two others were arrested - a 19 year-old for trespass for refusing to leave Ellis and a 39 year-old for public intoxication.
