NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- North Liberty is working to put its new multi-million dollar water treatment plant on line this month.
This week, they're flushing the fire hydrants to help get the newly-treated water to customers sooner.
The nearly $20-million treatment plant will help with North Liberty's growing population, which has grown 38 percent since 2010.
The current plant is 41 years old. The new plant will treat 1.6 million gallons of water a day.
The city is already using 1.4 million gallons, with more growth anticipated.
