IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A new MRI machine can now help patents at the Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City. And the hospital is giving a lot of the credit to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon.

Wednesday morning, workers used a crane to lift the massive piece of equipment into the hospital.
The new MRI machine cost $3-million. Funds from the university's annual Dance Marathons covered about $650,000 of that cost.
One organizer of the marathon told us the installation of this machine shows what the student dancers are capable of doing.
"This really was a gift that was made possible over years of donations. Thought I may be speaking on behalf of the group that approved it, this is a work that's been made possible through countless dance marathons over many years. So it's really a testament to our students," said Alex Linden.
This is the second MRI machine at the Stead Family Children's Hospital.
