The original release didn't specify how the pedestrians had been hurt. However, witness accounts suggest around 8:00 p.m. a silver pickup in the 400 block of 7th Avenue collided with a white pickup before striking the two pedestrians.

Police clarified Sunday morning, saying officers believe the two-vehicle collision happened first. One of the trucks then struck the pedestrians, sending them to the hospital.

"At 1953 hours on 05-19-18 an accident was reported at Villa’s Patio Restaurant, located at 433 7th Avenue in Marion," the release said. "Two pedestrians were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Two vehicles were involved which sustained minor damage."

The release went on to say a driver had been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Authorities said they were not yet ready to give out the names of those involved at the time the news release was sent, around 10:00 p.m. Saturday.
