CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Authorities say the fire at a Cedar Rapids apartment appears to have been intentionally set. They say it most likely started in a hallway of the apartment complex.
The complex had six units and five were occupied at the time of the fire.
One woman threw her infant out the window to an adult male to escape. Other people in the complex escaped from windows or fire escape ladders due to the significant amount of fire in the hallway.
Authorities say the most significant injury was an adult female who may have had a fractured leg.
They were called to 126 Harbet Avenue Northwest around 3:45 Thursday morning.
