Luana Fire Department Begins New Station Build

LUANA, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- An eastern Iowa fire department that has outgrown its building is a bit closer to having a new one. The Luana Fire Department broke ground on their new department on Monday.

Luana firefighters told TV9 earlier this year they need a new building because they didn't have enough room to train. The new building will cost about $300,000 dollars. Firefighters have already raised half of that.

The department hopes the new building is finished by Luana Days at the end of summer.
