Decorah Firefighters Battle Two Wednesday Fires

DECORAH, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- West Music in Decorah says they will be closed until further notice. The business says everyone who was in the business is safe.

Decorah firefighters spent about three hours Wednesday fighting a fire in a downtown building.

Crews responded to the fire about 1:15 p.m. to the fire in an upstairs apartment at 122 East Water Street. Firefighters attacked the flames from the rear of the building and quickly brought the fire under control.

The fire had spread into the attic of the adjacent West Music building, and firefighters contained it to the attic area.

There were no injuries reported. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.



Decorah Police say police and firefighters are on the scene of a fire downtown.

Crews arrived at the scene sometime before 2 p.m. Wednesday on East Water Street.

According to employees at Happy Joe's Pizza, the fire happened in an apartment above a business next to West Music.

Viewer Tina Wedo sent us a picture from the scene, saying the fire also damaged a restaurant and music store next door.
