Six Boone Officers on Paid Leave After Shooting

Boone police have released new information in an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead over the weekend. They have also released body cam video of the incident.

Officers responded Saturday evening to a call about a domestic situation at 620 Second St.

The female caller stated that a male, later identified as Timothy Wayne Anderson, 48, was threatening her and another person with a knife.

When officers arrived at the home, they could hear yelling and screaming coming from inside.

According to police, when officers attempted to enter the residence, Anderson charged at them with the knife. The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave, per department policy.

The officers involved were Captain Lonnie Hikiji, Officer Daniel Lynch, Officer Joseph Slight, Officer Connor McCuen, Officer Cole Hilsabeck and officer Seth McCrea.

Boone police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the shooting.

Anderson was transported to the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny. His autopsy is scheduled for later today.
